| I quit on about 28 Dec 2001 I was going to stop at New Year but decided i'd had enough a couple of days earlier. No patches, but i used to get a calculator out and work out how much i had saved if i ever started to relapse. My young kids were a major motivation factor, and i never smoked in the house.

| Big thumbs up from me as well... I stopped in 2001. My wife became pregnant and that made me stop. Cold Turkey. Never had one since but my waistline has increased rapidly :'( This year I aim to lose the excess baggage from quiting smoking but I fear that it will be MUCH harder then the ciggies ....

| That'a awesome Scubee. Well done You may not feel fitter, but these things are very hard to judge subjectively. Let's face it your lungs will be less full of crap now than they were a year ago, you may not feel it but I bet you are! |

| I stopped about seven years ago and it does get easier. I made a deal with myself that if I gave up smoking I wouldn't worry about how much I ate, drank, or how little exercise I did for ten years Works for me Good luck, but remember that cigarettes are sneaky things and can creep up on on you.
