| Woz What we have done in the barns that i store the diving stock & the Fire damper stock as well, is we have line the sides with 100mm loft insulation then put a 6mm ply board to cover it the we put a small portable radiator in this keeps it nice and dry & warm, as condensation sends the damper products rusty as these are made out of galv, also if you put pallets on the floor this also stops anything getting damp as the warm air is able to travel between the floor and the pallets keeping every thing dry. I would invest in a NAIL gun as we have put in over 5,000 nails in the boards over 4 barns or you will have arm like popye John

| We've got some very exciting pneumatic tools at work including a proper nail gun (it fires 2" wire nails not puffy little brads) and a staplegun that fires 1" wide x 1" deep staples. I've got a fitting that converts a 1st stage to a push-in fitting so I stick a cylinder on my back and go round nailing the crap out of stuff. It's great fun. I sprayed a greenhouse with timber treatment like this down my allotment (when I had one) which got a few stares. I wonder if running a nailgun off an O2 cylinder would bang tha nails in harder? Anyway. I digress. Am pumping out the pit tomorrow with my dad's 2" hosed petrol trash pump. The walls are that funny stuff- steel steel with concrete pebbledash on the outside. Roof is wriggly cement and it drips a bit here and there so needs a bit of gobbo spooging over it. Steel up and over door with a steel side door. I've got Big and Exciting industrial steel racking down one side that'll be dead easy to convert to a closed set of shelves with some sort of dehumidifier in there rather than heating/insulating the whole building which is a bit excessive.

You might change your mind when you see how much a decent dehumidiefier costs and costs to run. Don't think for a momnet that a £300 Ebac will cope with such a harsh environmnet. Your Dehumidifier will need to be drained externaly or it will switch off every time the catch tank gets full. ATB Mark

Gyprock dry wall adheasive will do the job. I am sitting in my single skin office lined with 50mm thermal board as I type. My company specilises in condensation control (amongst other things) and I have put up 1000s of M2 of thermal board. ATB Mark

Woz, if the roof is dripping it is a condensation problem. The roof needs insulating and humid air must be stopped from reaching the insulation, a polythene film will do. You also need to check out you pit, if it's letting in water check out Thoroseal, it will withstand hydrostatic water pressure if applied correctly.

| Seeing as one of my biggest customers is British Gypsum getting hold of drylining stuff will be pretty simple. The roof is dripping when it rains through a couple of holes. hen it eventually stops raining I'll have to nip up with a gobbo gun.
