I used to love it when my mum baked any sort of cake and I used to get the leftovers in the bowl ( please note - to avoid jokes, I did not say I used to lick the bowl out ). Chocolate was my favourite.

And this will make lots of you want to run for the throwup smiley - whenever she used to put an oxo cube in anything, she used to keep a bit out for me to eat as is. I still lick my fingers after crumbling an oxo cube ( but only the red ones)

Mmm, all this talk of school cooking made me hark back to the food of my childhood, so tonight I've cooked cauliflower cheese - with a sauce made from a proper roux.
