| If purchased as seen and the Graphics card was there (and it wasnt made clear to you that it was going to be removed) get right back there and play merry hell. Problem is that if you have nothing to prove it was in place you may have difficulty. |

| It is standard for this machine and is on the spec printout they gave me for the laptop! S.

| It's obviously got a graphics adapter of some description, or you wouldn't be getting a display on it. Is it not something as simple as they may have removed the drivers for it (it'll be running a 'PC World' build OS on it if it's ex-display.. so they could have blitzed it. Or should it have an onboard adapter plus seperate GFX card? |

Don't be bullied! The difficulty you may face is it's your word against there's that it was there. They "could" deny running the test. Go see the same person you tested it with then if they still deny make a lot of loud noise!!! In a polite non swearing way, of course! ![]()

Did a PC world employee tell you that it had a graphics card? Did you tell them you wanted a graphics card? How did you pay for it? The fact that you took out the guarantee is irrelevant, it's the purchase of the computer that's at issue. From the sounds of it, it's likely that there is a breach of the Sales of Goods Act; although evidence might be a bit tricky. You really need to try to remember the conversation between yourself and the sales assistant. Unless you can prove you've lost money; you'll only get your money back. Let me have the details and I'll be better placed to advise.

If its actually putting a message on the screen then there MUST be a graphics adapter of some sort installed. With Laptops people get confused between Graphics cards, (an actual separate physical card installed in Desktop PC's), and Graphic Chips, (an integrated part of the motherboard as installed in Laptops).
