TBH I wasn't going to run for charity this time. I have just hassled everyone for sponsorship for Tough Guy. Can't ask again.

What are you running 8 miles in currently?

I trained but did not run the Y2K marathon due to badly busted ankle ligaments 1 month before the race.
I only started training in the Dec for it, but I was regulary running 8 miles a day and was quite fit and active due to undergoing RCB officer selection at the time.

Start your training now - there are loads of good training programmes on the internet. You need to start gradually increasing the mileage from your previous 8 to 12 miles within a week or two and work up to approx 18/20 miles 3 weeks before. I was advised not to puch much past 20 miles before the race, other wise wahts the incentive - you have already done it.

I'll see If I still have my training programme when I get home. One of my mates did the last 2 so I will see if he can email his programme over. If I can get one ill PM you.

I didn't get in, and I'm not going to bug everyone again about charity giving to get one of them places (besides when I run a marathon I want it to be for me!).

Got another 1/2 at the start of March and then I'll find something fun to do after that
