I'm sure he'd rather be remembered more for the things he did rather than having Poland Syndrome and I don't imagine he'd have spent too much time taking the mick out of disability as most people find it in poor taste.

He was pretty well known when I left the UK 20 yrs ago and I have to say that I never cared for him much...

[Correction, I never cared much for the stuff he did, as I didn't actually know him.]

However, a look at his bio on Wiki indicates to my mind both a very clever person and a caring one too, given the amount of time he spent he spent on charitable causes, on Wiki, they are claiming 100 million raised.

Considering we all do our nuts on here if anyone ever talks disparagingly about a dead diver, especially a British one, I think it's a pity that people think that when a so-called celebrity dies at an early age, there's some sort of double standard applies.
