Just moved to Frome

Hi All,

The family and I have just moved to Frome from London (Orpington) and now I have no friends Do I need to go to the local park and play?

Frome seems to be a lovely little town and the wife is loving all the am dram and theatre groups, she a thesp. How very dare you. Best of all though is that Vobster is 5mins from my house!! Woohoo (ish)

Does anyone know what the local BSAC club are like? Are they a busy lot? Or is there a regular YD thing going down at Vobster?

Just getting a feel for the place and any info would be great.

Cheers,

Stuart

Bet you are really missing the Walnuts and Mc Donalds not to mention the new shopping centre.

Is this any help?

South West - BSAC

There are lots of YDers who regularly use Vobster. My branch (Exeter) often use it for training when the sea is blown out and there are 5 active YDers in that branch alone!

Big YD meet-up at Vobster next weekend.

Chimps Tea Party - 16/17 Feb 08 - Vobster Quay - DIR Experience

Very much DIR-oriented, but that won't stop me showing my face. It's organised by our own GLOC, who's not as bad as some people make out

Why is it Frome, pronounced as in Room?
and not Frome, as in Rome?

As to fitting in... are you married to your cousin? (sorry couldn't resist).

Hope you all get settled OK and enjoy your new location.
Mind you its a long way to go just to get away from Pikey Diver Dude, and Janos......

LOL, Paul

Frome - you poor thing. It's a local town for local people.

I'm just down the road in Warminster, and yes I do go down to Vobster on a fairly regular basis during the winter. I'll be down there on the 16th with GLOC and Co, and also I'm planning to be down there on the 23rd. So why not say hello.

You will find Weymouth/Portland quite handy (approx 1 1/2 hr) and most of the South coast in reasonably easy reach.

Frome as in F-room.

Although you can always annoy the locals by calling it From-ee
