Some people might find that offensive Bren. The English contingent won't understand although the Norn Iron and West coast Scotland folk might see the bigotry the whole site seemed aimed at. It doesn't bother me but some people might not see the funny side. This certainly isn't the place for any discussion of the ilk.

Ok - point taken Peter. believe me, with my upbringing I'd be the last person to advocate ANY sectarian bigoty on YD and if I thought Bren's post (intentionally or otherwise) was meant as such then it'd be off faster than a 16 year old Essex girls knickers. Believe me mate if you knew HALF of what I went through as a kid you'd believe me! For me and it seems a few others, this site is dripping with irony - if it upsets you then don't look at it again.

I don't think the url is particularly funny or offensive, the slogan is a bit controversial but not that much. IME all Irish of any type who come over to the mainland want to leave the fighting behind, doesn't mean we can't slag each other off for a laugh but you have to know your mates first.
And just 'cos your mate laughs at the slagging doesn't mean his brothers or other mates would so it pays to be fairly cautious.

I`m trying to relate the irony of the post with a previous one (the one with the offensive title but humerous content that was censored - the `blank` post). Apart from the unfortunate title, readers were not given the option of `not looking at it again`.

This is not a criticism of the board owners/moderators or contributers, more of an observation. Its good to see material that borders on the sensitivities of the world - ya dont see this on DN etc. Please continue to allow such stuff but please also be consistent

Kirky - the post you refer to was a troll entitled &quot;Another Death ... Well sort of&quot; and was to do with Anne Marie and nothing to do with a diving fatality. It wasn't the content that was offensive but I felt the title was, especially giving that one of our own (Driftwood) had recently been present at a diver fatality.
