It took me ages to track down a MK 1 that hadn't been raced or trashed. I love it in the same way as i loved all of my RD305LC's. Both bikes that set the standard in their day for everyone else to catch up with. Even your granny has heard of a Fireblade.

Personaly I can recomend the 12r
I have had mine since OCT 2000 (silver)
Get a 2000 model if you can as they are unrestricted, to get the full power just change the can for a race one and remove the cat from the mid pipe.
No need for the power comander as the fuel injection can cope with most race cans.
Yes they are dearer than the Busa but look far nicer.
If the money is tight get an old Busa !!
Don't take any notice to the armchair experts as to handeling or perfomance they are bothe about the same.
You won't be disapointed with either.
TRUST ME

PS.
Be prepaird for the rear tyers wearing out in 1200 > 1600 miles
and about £160 for the 12r (200 50x17)
Be shure to avoid motorways as they eat the center section of the tyre AND THE WIRE WILL SHOW IN LESS THAN 1200 MILES !!!!

PPS.
Anyone who tells you they dont handle and are straight line misiles have never riden them and are talking crap.
wacker

1986 GSXR 750 G,(Slabsider for those who remember them)UK bike, has indications of an interesting past eg.lockwired sump, bit more go than standard etc.Been in hiding for the last couple of years but maybe back out this summer.....hopefully.
Been riding(and fixing regularly )my mates early RD250 of late, good fun.Not fast enough to let them throw the key away but more than interesting enough on the good bits.
