Ouch! Barry Manilow has a broken nose

Barry Manilow, the man with show business's most impressive proboscis since Jimmy Durante, has broken his nose.

The 56-year-old crooner, whose ballads have made him a housewives' favourite across the world, admitted yesterday that he had walked into a wall in the middle of the night.

Manilow, who now faces possible surgery on his nose, knocked himself out. He had just returned to his home in Palm Springs after a two-week break at his seaside home in Malibu.

He said yesterday: "I got up thinking I was still in my holiday home in Malibu and veered to the left instead of the right and slammed right into the wall. I may have to have my nose fixed - and with this nose, it's going to require some major surgery."

The singer Barry Manilow - itself an anagram of "Why, Mr Real Big Nose" - was left unconscious on his bedroom floor for four hours after the accident, which has left his splendid hooter more swollen than ever. He is continuing work on a new album and on plans for a Broadway musical.

Manilow has sold 60 million records despite all the jokes about his nose. There is even a website for people who fancy snowboarding down it.

Just spotted this one Bren.
Good to see the man can laugh at himself though. Praps they can chop the broken bit off and save it for Whacko, rejection might be a problem but i think they could get the nose to accept all the plastic being welded to it eventually.
