Just turn up with your diving equipment and say 'sports allowance - diving equipment' and you get up to 32kg (max), for nowt!

Sue I am worried about taking the risk as it does say on the website sports allowance needs to be arranged when booking. Nothing on the booking form to point us in the right direction. Have been told verbally yes it is ok but I want it in writing first. The excess is horrendously high.

Ha ha. Very funny. It meant I could put both legs out straight in front of me and still not touch the other seat. Good for me circulation which is normally cut off by the seat because my feet don't reach the floor.

Yazzy, just try to be first in the queue ( I think I was in the fist 10) and when they say "what kind of seat do you want?" smile sweetly and say "I don't suppose you have an extra leg room seat do you? Please? oh thank you, that would be lovely".

When I booked my ticket via flightline, I asked, and they said I had to contact Air Malta direct and IN ADVANCE. Which I did, and Air Malta were great. So don't leave it till the day. Be sure and for the cost of a phone call its worth it

Another vote for Air malta. If you do have a problem they do sort it out PDQ as well. I have had a problem with them in the past, but their customer service is good and I do go back. Perhaps that tells you more about me than them.
Extra baggage allowance very welcome as well never had a knock back from them at the check in.

That's probably because Flightline were reading the same website .

Yazzy, ring Air Malta, get confirmation, and get the name of the person you are talking to. It really is that easy - and at check in they can't be bothered to see your Cert's either. Their main concern is that your bags don't exceed 32kg, so the handlers don't get damaged.
