so I guess that's a vote for the written word!
I only started reading the Discworld series recently and this is a perfect description

He phrases things in such remarkable way. Some of the descriptions of Death's voice are superb. There is one about it landing like an anchor which I can't find right now but nails it right on the head

Probably the funniest thing I have ever read is the description of Pteppic preparing for his Asassin's exam at the beginning of Pyramids.

IMO Small Gods is one of the all time best satires of organised religion. Ever.

All Hail TP

I'd read on a few pages and had to go back to check that he really HAD used "Felonious Monk".

I haven't read any of the books but I really enjoyed the Hogfather (esp second time around).

Death was excellent as were Susan and old Teatime.

I'm really looking forward to the Colour of Magic.
