| The solicitor put it to me, that some people like to settle the claim now rather than wait. But my argument is that I should recover fully first, and also if I take longer to heal then they should calculate the compensation then. Also if I agree to settlement now, then any expenses I have after the event, I could not claim. The amount suggested is according to the solcitor the average for thsi type of case which the court would award. Its funny because about 10 years ago, my wife had someone crash into the back of her car. She was not injuried but got 3k ![]()

| They have admitted liability. The other odd thing that happened at the accident was the guy gave a false name and address at first, he came round on the night to my home and gave me his real name etc. Said he panicked. This whole experience has been odd. At the end of the day I want to get back to normal, with my injuries and to be given a fair payout for the stress and hassle I've been put through.

| if you are ever in an accident ALWAYS claim that you have an injury. not to defraud the system but to make sure the police are involved as it is against the law to leave the scene. they at least will get some details of the other driver. all the best in the case.

It sounds to me like you have lazy lawyers. Your injuries, expenses etc went though the insurance computer and it spat out a figure. It sounds like your soliciters can't be bothered to fight for any more as they now want to move on to the next case due to deminishing returns (time vs. the additional revenue they make out of this) A similar thing happened to me 12 months ago but I had good soliciters they would not submit my case until my whiplash had significantly got better and they sent me to a doctor for a final analysis before submitting the claim. My payout was based on my injuries and the cost of any future treatment - but I could not claim again! Get a second opinion. I got just over a grand for whiplash. A sliped disc will trouble you for a very long time ATB G
