| i can only pass on my experiences. the value of damages to property and any loss of earnings is usually not the issue. personnel injury is often the part contested. if you cannot agree a figure then the 2 parties will have to go to court for the matter to be settled by a judge. if the judge agrees a higher figure than has been offered to you then good. if the figure is less then you may have also to pay the court costs. very often the other party will make an increased offer just prior to walking into court. your solicitor/barrister should give you advice on this. 2p

| as suggested, the best offer you'll get is generally the one just before you walk into court

On the other hand, I know most genuine people will hate these, but have you tried contacting any of these "no win no fee" people! may be worth a call! Good luck

| I got hit about 4 years ago and wasn't hurt at all but still had to see a specialist doctor 3 months afterwards which was a waste of time Got £1300 for my non existant injuries which also covered them for not making a claim in the future !!! If you are hurt then be very careful as it may turn into a long term injury and once you settle you could be stuffed in the long term.

| I've got a slipped disk in the neck, at the moment and go to physcio every two weeks. The deal is, if I agree to settlement, then I can not make any new claims later should I not fully recover by Nov. I cant see the point in accepting settlement now and also the amount that my solicitor has suggested. I've spoken to other people who have been in accidents and had no injuries. They offered me 2k ??

Strange that your existing solicitor reckons you should settle. I hope a qualified yder can offer some decent advice. This is no time for the unqualified mob to rear their barrack room heads. |
