Since taking on the mantle of customer services I have tried to change the name of this award - the Head of Service has long since gone and people don't understand the origins of it any more. Out Chief Executive, however, likes it (even though no-one else does) so I'm stuck with it for now. I was explaining this to my colleague on the course who said it reminded him of the 'special sock' he keeps beside his bed. I've now renamed the award 'the crusty sock' in his honour. Incidentally, the now absent Head of Service was also responsible for this gem of a corporate customer service value: 'We follow through - we do the whole job'. I can't say this without pi$$ing myself. I'm DEFINETELY changing that one!

| Here is a totally pointless banal debate for you: Imagine a plane is sitting on a massive hypothetical conveyor belt, as wide and as long as a runway. The conveyor belt is designed to match the speed of the plane exactly but moves in the opposite direction. The engines are running at take-off thrust, the brakes are off, etc. Everything is normal save for the fact the plane is on a treadmill. Can the plane take off? David. |

There is only one correct answer, and that is to say "You can't ask me that, because I'm biased towards thinking that it looks fantastic!" You will get a kiss instead of a slap, and then she will never ask you again. Though she will still wear things that make her bum look big. |

as the plane is effectivly stationary, there would be no lift from the wings. same as, if you were travelling at the speed of light in your car and you switched your headlights on - what would happen? answer - nothing, the lights would glow but wouldnt project any light as you would be catching up with the edge of the projected beam the instant it left the headlamp filament.
