We tend to have the occasional discussion at work about various topics that either have no right answer or are impossible to start with. An example of each genre has included 'how much would you have to be paid to eat an oyster off a urinal?' and 'if you ate your own legs would you lose weight or put some on?' Do other members engage in similarly intellectual debates? What's the daftest subject you've 'got serious' about? Greens awarded for suitably banal offerings.

The question, does my bum look big in this ! has no real answer you get a slap no matter what the answer is

Theo, a Greek guy who used to work with us was obsessed about winning the lottery and choosing the numbers. Countless hours of lost production, much tear shedding and (at the end of the discussions) raised voices all in the cause of the best way to choose that weeks lines.

The best way he found (and I am not making this up) was to tie his dogs to the radiator and read out the numbers, depending how his dogs reacted to a certain number depended if that number was chosen for the week. He also did this with horse racing. He reckoned it was due to the dogs having high levels of telepathy As time went by many subjects where covered each resulting in much inhouse fighting and amongst us more "normal" members of the team much frustration as we battled against his ever growing wierdness.

sadly he was eventually sacked as his conduct was seen as not in keeping with working in a major pharmacutical reseach center........it's certainly quiter and more work is done but not as much fun
