| I have really enjoyed reading this thread. I have just got the bike out of ther garage where it has sat unloved for too long and have started riding to / from the local station. I suspect that the bike I got is not up to the job long term but I will replace it next year if necessary under the second round of bike to work scheme. We have a limit of £250 and anything over that we pay for ourselves there and then. The gel saddle was OK to start off with but after 5 miles it was starting to cut in a little - padded shorts look like a good buy. Or a cushion. The other 4 miles weren't too much better. I am now looking at whether to get a rack and panniers to take some of the weight off my back but that will wait until I have confirmed that this isn't a flash in the pan. Glad you have got the bike at last Si - just use it and love it. |

| Nice bike Si. I've trashed the Apollo again, but I'm currently on an old school Bianchi racing bike, the wheels seem about 1/4" wide... Buy a copy of you local Ordinance survey map and find some bridal paths, you'll never look back. Have fun, Noel.
