How VERY dare you!

That is 1912 Coogans (oldest furniture company in Tas) settee, which I rescued ("liberated"?), along with two matching armchairs, from the Officers Mess at a Hobart military establishment, during renovations. In four years time, it will be 100 yrs old.

I then had it re-covered. The "brick" you refer to is polished hardwood - part of the frame.

default name I would suggest would be "Cooking Fat", but I guess your naming criteria probably preclude that one.

Alternately, I'd recommend a human name not normally given to pets.
Dave has already been mentioned, makes people very confused when you're talking about what the cat did and they think you're talking about a person...

e.g. "Dave got stuck up next door's tree at the weekend."
or
"Dave scratched my legs really badly whilst we were playing....."

Kevin is another good one.
We have a dog called Eric, which always gets a chuckle.

This might help:..

Random Catname Generator

Other than that what about "Fusker"

"Mr Whiskerton"

"Bitch Cat from Hell" (what my other half calls mine when it swipes her for attempting to move it off the sofa)

"Brucie"

erm.. "Saeed"

"Clyde" (Shortened version of your oversized pony)

erm...

We had a cat called Fusker when I was a young girl. All white, very beautiful and, at the time, my best friend I remember crying for weeks over that one

Update.

Well young "Morris" has certainly made himself at home. The various TV, video, DVD and hi-fi remotes previously lived in this bowl.
