Best ever song intro?
My nipper and I were debating the best ever song intro. He claimed that we couldn't name one as we hadn't heard them all, but we (well I did mostly) came up with a few:

All along the watchtower - Hendrix version, naturally
She sells sanctuary - Cult
Riders on the storm - Doors
In the air tonight - Phil Collins
Biko - Peter Gabriel
How soon is now? - Smiths
The opening feedbacked note of I feel fine - Beatles

and with the help of Google:
Caroline - The Quo (good call)

But I can now officially reveal that the best ever song intro is:

Gimme Shelter by The Rolling Stones

I'm sure you all agree and no discussion will be necessary

Oh, and the best outro has to be Stay with me by The Faces
