Excel format question.
Curses, I'm at home and about to analyse my years spending before making some changes on who gets my money for utilities etc and I have just doscovered I haven't installed Lotus 123 on my home PC so I've got to use Excel.

I have looked in the Cell Format option and I can't see an option for BRACKETS TO INDICATE A NEGATIVE and A COMMA FOR THE THOUSANDS?

A little help please.

Goto "format cells", "number" tab. You then select "Category" of "number" ( click and highlight in the list). You have a tick box for "use 000 seperator "

Not sure on the brackets for negatives....

Thanks for the PM. I didn't have 'that option' and then I remembered that I needed to change a setting in Control Panel / Date, Time, Language and Regional Options to allow the use of brackets as a negative indicator.
