| Sad day - loosing a friend.. I am at home - lay on the sofa - and feel very upset... SWMBO has ordered a new sofa and my friend of many years has to go. I love my sofa. I have spent more hours than I should feeling her comforting support... She listens to all my woes... She never complains when I come home from the pub smelling of beer... She never complains when I lay ontop of her... She never complains when I fart on her... She is being "Recycled"... Local charity are coming this morning to collect her and re-home her... I am going to miss her... and her replacement doesn't arrive until next week.... which means I have to sit on the wicker chair from the conservatory... It took years to break in my sofa... I'll now have to start all over again.. Paul p.s. note to self... check down back of sofa for any money before she goes!

When it was reupholstered, as well as the usual small change, the upholsterer also found a significant quantity of small arms ammunition, including 9mm, 5.56mm, 7.62 and even some old rimmed 0.303s.

I am in the same situation, we have had our sofa for 18....yes 18 years. SWMBO has been trying to get rid of it for a number of years but I am desperatly clinging on to it, my sofa has seen me through many events good and bad. It was there for me when I was layed up with three slipped disks, I have slept through many a great football game/film/documentry over the years. The subject does come up every now and then about getting a new suite but my stock reply has always been "we can get a new suite but it has to be identical to my much beloved sofa" So far I am hanging on to it............but for how much longer I do not know ![]()
