My wife has fixed our ground floor toilet so that the seat will not stay up. She insists that men sit down to pee for reasons of cleanliness to the surroundings. I am amazed at the number of men who thinks this impunes their manhood. Is it so important to stand to pee when sitting down is an option?

You try sitting down and keeping both 'openings' pointing down in the correct direction at the same time if you are finding the company .............. stimulating!

Well that might be true - HWMO always maintains aim failure on errant pubes! I guess that is a male reason and they are sticking with it. Personally I think that farting and not following through aka multi-tasking as seen in other current threads is to blame as a distraction to aim!!!!

Apparently, when sitting, they sometimes dangle onto loo blocks, causing a modicum of discomfort
