Hi,
Going to hurgarda in a few weeks and just wondered if its worth taking dollars as the exchange rate is so good or should it be egyptian and also take it visa is still required when flying into hurgarda and is it possible to but the visa in advance and if so were abouts.

ya still need the visa but i think its better to get it when your there as you can spend an hr geting to town . an hr home spend another couple of days getting thins sorted . goin back in again

all a waste of time as some1 in the group or on the bus needs it done anyway .

I was last there in November and they were taking Egyptian, dollars, euros and sterling. Probably could have paid in camels if I could have fit them in my purse.

Get the visa when you get there.

Get the visa at the airport when you get there, they're $15.

When I go I take enough Egyptian cash for a couple of days, (£50 is plenty) then I use cashpoint machines. There is absolutely no point in changing sterling to dollars and then to LE, losing out a little bit on every currency exchange.

i foun that because the banks over there arnt a member of some bankin group i got charged for each withdrawl

i like to bring a little egyptian for when i get there and change when im there in the hotel

By all means bring the Visa with you but to be honest cash is king over there. Personally, I would just use Egyptian as the locals are well aware of exchange rates. Especially the "foreign exchange office" in Sharm, you know the one in a 3 x 3 room with a lad with a Kalashnikov guarding the door.
In actual fact he gives about the best rate!!
