Health care excess
The company I work for is changing our health care plan and now we have to pay the first £100 of any claim. They are saying that this in now the norm, they have been asked to provide figures as to how many companys polled and what percentage are paying excess. Not trusting them can I ask here are you asked to pay an excess in your company scheme or not? I m particularly interested in IT companies. Thanks

Our company had a similar policy but it was per year, so you could claim as many times as you liked per year, which was fine unless your claim spanned two financial years i.e. you claimed for part of the treatment just as the financial year ended, then you got stung twice for what was in effect a single claim.

Not that this is strictly relevant to youy but over here, it's actually illegal for Health Insurers to pay the whole bill - otherwise the Drs/hospitals will just charge what they like.

Ours just started this year - £100 excess. It's with AXA PPP.

and yep, IT company. The old company I worked for use BUPA and the same thing has happened to them, apparently.
