it is a proper illness. However, women and children refer to it as 'the common cold' or 'a bit of a runny nose', or in the case of 11 year old boys ' a snotty'
Mind you, it is rather nice to be referred to as a 'lady'

Ah, hello, Dr Frosty here. Well Ratty, you're quite right. Manflu (or to give it its full name, Testosterone Influenced Terminal Sickness) can indeed be fatal but just to put your mind at rest, death only occurs in 92% of cases. Much research has been conducted into treatment regimes and there is still much disagreement amongst us clever doctors but we are all agreed that increased alcohol intake and consumption of nutritionally valueless foods are important.
