| As you have said I am absolutely shocked and gutted by Richards sudden passing. I had the privilege of diving with Richard on a few occations and was due to buddy with him on the Brittanic, I am not big on the buddy thing but Richard was one of the few people that I could trust and depend on a dive of this magnetude. As you have said Richard will be sorely missed for his humour and sometimes brutally honest opinions on matters he thought were right and I have to say I think it is a duller place without him Baloo

| I had heard about this off the boards and was quite shocked. Richard and I had clashed badly when we first met. I have to be honest, we didn't click at all. And then he started to PM me and chat to me about diving and non-diving stuff, and I realised he just had a wild sense of humour and enjoyed winding people up. He was brutally honest, but also honest enough to praise someone when he learnt something useful from them, or shared an opinion with them. I realised we shared quite a lot of the same views about things. He was an immensely knowledgeable diver, someone you would never cease learning from, and curious about any aspect of diving which he didn't already know He was someone whom I grew to have a great deal of respect for. This is a real loss, and I shall miss our banter |

| Heard about this last week. I'll miss him. Like Garf many a friendly PM exchange and large amount of common ground.
