have you got a dry-suit and decent gloves? Put them on and use a full face mask. You shoud be safe from scratches then...

I'd still phone the RSPCA, it sounds like it might be a feral cat and I'm sure they would like to catch it and put it down?

Perhaps it's having kittens under one of your cupboards? No, honestly, I'm only joking.
