How, in the name of God, did a humungous cat get under your floorboards?! (Unless you've taken them up for some reason....). I go with the open tin of sardines/tuna or similar. Open it, leave on floor, open back door and retreat until safe. He'll go soon enough, as long as there's nothing between him and his exit. Or call the RSPCA and tell them you've got a mad feral cat under your floorboards and can they come and sedate it to get it out. If you're going to try to catch him yourself, use hedging/fencing gauntlets and a face guard.

okay - so i have a mahoosive not my cat under the kitchen floorboards. The kitchen is starting to stink of cat pee... nice one...

i just put on my 5mm diving gloves and put out some tuna and opened the door.

ok, now its trapped you can call the RSPCA and they can come and trap it for you.

Open door and quickly and firmly introduce "not my cat" to "not my boot". If you are too soft to do that, squirt water at it, with a water pistol or a washing up bottle.

Once it's used to being fed tuna, you'll never get rid of it, in fact I might come round if you'll feed me too You could try tempting me with steak or salmon

so not may cat WAS munching on tuna - so i ran in and made lots of noise hoping it would bolt for the door....

obviously not my cat likes the space under my oven..... back to square one..
