What a sad reflection on sport. We have no opinion, we don't want to cause any trouble, we're quite happy performing for old men's egoes...

If I ever have kids I'll be quite happy for them to have such a disgraceful example set for them, if nothing else for giving as much ridicule as they deserve to b-list "celebrities". To paraphrase the great Flava Flave of Public Enemy, "who the f**k is Konnie Huq?". Am I proud that thousands of my tax pounds were spent protecting her? Forget China, I'll happily line up to throw rocks at whoever signed the cheque on that one. If governments get what they want then it's democracy, if they don't then they say it's mob rule.

Carrying a flame around dozens of countries is nothing to do with sport. Sport would be people turning up in China, running around for a while, and then going home again.

What annoys me is the way that sport and athleticism is being used by the politicians. I think the olympics has become a grotesque pissing away of money in an attempt to make the government of the day look good.

If they really wanted to raise the profile of sports amongst the yoof then i dont think turning the olympics into a midde aged politiking fcukfest will work. Rant rant rant.

I wanted to ban the show in our house but my wife likes watching the male swimmers..........

the only reason i am in favour of the olympics is the ladies beach volleyball
