If you let me know when you are coming, and what you want to do, we can probably sort something out. If you need to hire kit, my LDS will be able to hire anything you need.

Oh... if you want inland stuff, we do have Wraysbury nearby (25 mins from my house) and Stoney (108 miles) Chepstow 98 miles and if you want to spend 3 hours getting there, you can go to Vobster.
Hi,

thanks for the info. Just had a look at your club web and realised how close I've been! My daughter is at Reading uni (she's a BSAC sports diver but doesn't fancy the cold water !) and I occaisionally get over there to see her - usually invloves heavy use of the credit card to restock the fridge!

Number 2 daughter is also heading that way later this year (subject to A levels) so I'll be coming over to set her up in UK which a few days of frantic shopping and paperwork - eg do you realise how hard it is to open a bank account when you haven't lived in UK for awhile?

Might be able to squeeze a days diving into the trip, but not more as Mrs John63 will be waiting for me to get back to Bahrain (first time with both girls left home ). If diving doesn't pan out I'll try and get out for a beer or two if it conincides with one of your club socials.

Cheers, John

Well, set off at 6.30 this morning, met Neil at Woolley Edge (is that right?) service station! Did a swap of parcels and headed off up the M1. Couldn't go the normal M18 route cos of where I was meeting Neil. And the transition from M1 to A1(M) is very smooth, I must admit. Certainly wasn't like that 9 years ago!

Got to Peterlee at 11.00. Left there at 1.00 and got home at 5.30. Bloomin' tiring, this driving lark, innit!

All deliveries done (well almost, just need to do one more bit) and done the drive! Waved at the Derbyshire lot as I drove past too! Steve didn't wave back, miserable git!

Oh and nice to meet you Neil!

four and a half hours each way... you must have been going some! Mind you... leaving at that time in the morning the roads would be clear.

i came back down the M18 route, and it didn't really make much difference. Left St. Ockton at 10am and got home 3pm.

The best bit was not having to refuel on the whole trip... all the way up and all the way down on one tank...I love my deisel doing 50mpg

I didn't go over 70 the WHOLE way! Honest, Guv!!

I had to stop TWICE to fill! My poxy little car has a poxy little tank. I can only go to about 280 miles on a tank and seeing as the whole journey is 305 miles I was buggered!!! Was NOT happy! Mind, it is an 1.8 sporty little Corsa and it'd be a waste to not use all that lovely engine power in such a small car!! But even if I cruised at the fuel economy speed I think I'd only manage to get up there on one tank and down on another.

If I drove more I'd get a diesel, but seeing as I only fill it up once every 6 weeks now that I'm using peddle power it's fun having the speed and handling! Most don't expect my little car to be able to go fast! I'm an elderly female boy racer at heart!!!

Having said that, I am jealous that you didn't need to fill up!
