| Thanks for the advise Guys (Sean, yours was especially useful! ACAS were great, and they have quite a detailed section about long term sickness/ absence on their website, along with standard letters etc. which may prove useful. I can't really do anything for a month at least, in which time I'm hoping that my man will improve enough to resume his duties. If it is longer than this, then I'll have to re-look at the situation. Short term, I have found someone to come in and fill a few day a week... but with anything like this, the job does involve a certain amount of manual skill, and operating tools and machinery, something that can only be picked up by physically doing the job over a long period of time.
