Currently looking at 2.8i Special.

Oh, and can anyone confirm when cars become tax exempt? I thought 25 years, but seems that different people think different things on this.

Nooooooo! Don't do it.

Capri's were bought by total chavs who lived in either Ladywood or Bartley Green. We used to get them burnt out by the reservoir at the back of our school on a weekly basis. In fact, I'm sure if you were to dive Bartley Green reservoir, you'd find at least 7 Capri's, along with a couple of TR7's and an X1-9 (remember them? I always wanted one of them until I drove one and they're shit).

It's only one level up from a Morris Marina, plus parts will be like rocking horse shit.

Get a proper fun car (like a Lotus Elise which you can get for peanuts now!)

Yes, you'll need to drive around yelling things like 'four-five!' into a philishave. Oh, and you'll need a dodgy perm and/or sideburns

[quote=hogen-deifar;896696]Jack, now sit down and think seriously about this purchase!!!

Have you ever driven one? A boat handles better! I drove the 2.0S, the 3.0S AND the 2.8iS and confess to hating them ALL!!! The power was pretty good, but then with an engine that size that's not surprising, and on the flat, on a motorway they were fine. But the minute you tried to turn even the weakest corner they lost it. Big time! Even with the low profiles on. To get them to turn (on all the models) you had to turn the steering wheel quite a way before you got a response. And the bonnet. You couldn't see the front of the car! Especially on the 2.8i with the raised bit in the bonnet.

Being a essex boy i always will love escorts ,mk1 mexico and mk11 RS2000 and the avo 's did my apprentership there at south ockenden
I can understand the love of a capri as well had the 3000s and a 2.8is as well but as hargen said totally shite on damp roundabouts, little bit of power and your arse is facing the wrong way round then came the cozzy whale tail 's mmmmm
