Also when you get your capri, replace all the bushes for poly bushes.

Yes! I think Ford used to do special "RS" bush sets... not sure if you would still get it though. The lower arm and anti roll bar feel much tighter for it, but they were a bitch to get in with a lot of soap, a vice and plenty of swearing!

FFS thats the last thing that you needed to do to stop it going all over the place especially with a leaf spring suspension set up.

the least weight the better contrary to popular myth of the bag of spuds/cement in the boot.

a 280 brooklands is the one you really want to do for.

and really do avoid the V6 2.3 as it has , wait for it cos from an engineering point of view this is a peach,

fibre gears for the timing mechanism, yes you heard right fibre not steel or something substantial like Carbon fibre no fibre compressed fibre that used to disintergrate at random generally causing your steed to go from 100-) very quickly in a big cloud when the valves and pistonds decided to escape from the mayhem through the side of the block.

You do realise that if you don't have a "proper" car as well you'll be forever in laybys phoning the AA?

Old cars are shit. Especially Capris. They're exceptionally shit. You would be better off keeping Pingu and getting a 2nd car if you fancy a Cockmobile.

Digs.
If your vehicle was constructed before 1 January 1973, you could tax it in the 'historic vehicle' tax class.
Further information can be found on leaflet INF34.

I bought a Bond Bug in 1981, I still have it

Completely irrelevant to the conversation as it's not Ford related, but as I only had a motorbike license until I was 28 it was that or a Reliant Robin.
