| Built before the 1st January 1973 I think is the exemption date, you still have to apply for a disc it just doesn't cost anything.

| Nope, afraid there's not likely to be much talking me out of it. All you can do is help me not completely cock up buying one Digs. |

| I'd get in touch with an owners club (assuming there is one). They know the problems of ownership and may be able to point you at some good cars. They will also tell you all the bad stuff as well.

| Jack, now sit down and think seriously about this purchase!!! Have you ever driven one? A boat handles better! I drove the 2.0S, the 3.0S AND the 2.8iS and confess to hating them ALL!!! The power was pretty good, but then with an engine that size that's not surprising, and on the flat, on a motorway they were fine. But the minute you tried to turn even the weakest corner they lost it. Big time! Even with the low profiles on. To get them to turn (on all the models) you had to turn the steering wheel quite a way before you got a response. And the bonnet. You couldn't see the front of the car! Especially on the 2.8i with the raised bit in the bonnet. I had a boyfriend who loved them. And I used to love the look of them. Until I drove them. And it was the worst drive I've ever experienced. Once, in Amsterdam I got to drive a coach. THAT was more responsive on steering that the Crapi, sorry, Capri! Save your life and get something equally as "cool" but that handles better. IMHO, of course!!! ![]()

| I've already done some background reading which suggests that roundabouts in the rain might be interesting. And generally the lack of stopping power. On the case with owners clubs, thought some YDer somewhere might have one kicking around, I know at least 2 YDer who have owned them in the past. Their comments when they hear about my little plan is normally either "crazy" or "mental" - both of which I'm happy with. Digs. |
