| Imported post I hate christmas. My birthday is on December 31st, and so everyone always gets me "one present for both". LIARS, you tight fisted farts. I bet if my frigging birthday was in july you would have got me the same for christmas. As a devout atheist i dont give a monkeys about the so often preached, so often ignored "real reason for christmas". Gimmie gimmie gimmie! (Dear Santa, i would like: a kent tooling reel (100m, s handle, yellow string, bracket for SMB, indestructible), a new weight harness cos mine is buggered, a sexy black mask, an analox doodah so i dont kill myself with nitrox....erm...and thats about it.)

| Imported post Well l love it. l covered the front my house with flashing lights etc. etc. this weekend and my front garden boasts an 8ft inflatable father christmas and in the rear garden l have an 8ft inflatable snowman. Funny thing is that when its pitch black and you look out of the rear bedroom window, you see snowies (thats what we call him) smilling face its kinda spooky, like caspa the ghost. l can't stand the neighbour directly oposite so l set the lights to the most annoying flashing setting, he's another boring one who doesn't like christmas. l'll be wearing my santa's hat to work soon. Off course there's allways a downside, now that my daughter has moved out her bedroom has sorta ended up as the bleedin inlaws room, so l've got them staying for a week. l really hope that the dive Andy the commies planning on the 29th goes ahead so l can escape.

| Imported post I am totally ignoring christmas this year, Instead of the usual family gathering, and after a few pints no doubt the usual family argument till everyone settles down and has a huge nosh followed by copious amounts of more alchoholic beverage.. Instead i am departing on the 21st December for a 2 week holiday off dive sites in the east coast of New Zealand. So chrissy day for lunch, should be a couple of 30 mtr dives somewhere and an aftermatch function in a local boozer.. Sounds like a marvelous chrissy plan ( Until the day, then ill probably get all bummed out im not home, then burn through a couple off 100 quid in air time lol).. and all i want for chrissy is never to hear snoopys red baron song grrrrrr Steve

| Imported post I wasnt born in 1973....does that make you feel old? hehehe. Oh yeah, the other thing that REALLLLY pisses me off, is that all the people who have families and grandkids at my work get the priority for the holiday (cos obviously not everyone can be off at once) - what about us young ones who like to go out and kill off some liver cells?

| Imported post <font color='#000080'>Helen, I'm right with you on this one - especially the last bit. Let's face it, Christmas is a right royal pain in the arse but we all put up with it at least for the enjoyment on the day. Well that's alright for most, but for those of us in the emergency services it just doesn't work that way. We have no kids and so are always last in line when it comes to getting the days off. My wife and I have had only one Christmas together in the last 13 years, so it's usually a complete non-event! The only good bit is the works do, but then we all go out and get rat-arsed at least once a month so that's not unique. So we've got to do the rounds of all the bloody shopping in those mad crowds and everything else but get no benefit from it whatsoever. All the pain but no pleasure. This year I've actually got christmas day off (it happens to fall on a day off in the shift pattern) but my wife is working nights. So my christmas day will be sat on my own watching the shite on TV, preparing a dinner while waiting all day for Mrs D to get out of bed at about 4.00pm. Bloody terrific!
