| Don't show it to Kirstie I would imagine that it would involve some kind of spray to coat it, but I am not sure which type.

| Why catch something then not eat it? i am quite shocked by this. i have no problem in people scalloping, bagging lobsters, and whatever else they want to have for their tea. Why on earth would you want to catch somehting, kill it, but only use it for some macho display... look what i caught?

| I'm with Scubee here, crabs taste good ...... if you cook it and take the meat out carefully it'll still look good. If it was the summer you could leave the carcas out in the sun for a few days and that might dry it out. But if you leave all the flesh inside it then it'll stink.

| Why not ask your local natural history museum (like the big one up in South Kensington)? They should be able to give you some help. Or a book on taxidermy.

| I agree, spider crabs are much under-rated for eating. However they make pretty poor ornaments.
