Just watched a documentary on Americans who pay $5000 to go to Israel and get trained in counter terrorist techniques and close quarters battle.  This is just in case some terrorist group decides to attack them in their small sleepy town in middle America - pop 42'000 or so.  And they are all devout Christains.  What a pile of shite.  Bollox to that.  Piss.  Twats.  What a stupid waste of money.  I love USA - lived there for 2 years and my brother lives there but typical yanks to be honest - get it bigger and better and it wont happen here.  I grew up in Northern Ireland were we blew each other to shite everyday for about 30 years and never once have i thought about carrying a gun and never been crushed to death trying to get out of a nightclub cause a boncer used pepper spay and someone thought it was mustard gas or something.  Mike Moore talks about a society of fear and is he ever right.  We blew up pub for years here and if a fire alarm went of in a pub in ireland we'd all sit there.  Good God what are they like.  Its like the guy in US who sleeps with a 44 magnum below his pillow and when asked by the interviewer why not behave like Ghandi he asked "who's Ghandi" - says it all really.
Counter terrorist techniques me arse and I watched it with a good friend who was with the marines and was in that sas thing they have in the royal marine and he pissed himself stupid at what they were taught.  Pile of shite apparently and he would know.  One says it was his duty as a Christain to carry a gun - what Bible is he reading?  When will America learn that members of the public should not have guns - 11,297 deaths in the US due to guns a year and in UK (and that includes the recent upsurge in gun crime and NIreland also- deaths 68) - stats always say alot really.  The US should worry less about CT techniques and  ban overweight dental nurses from going to Israel and being taught how to use an Uzi so she can go home and buy one over the counter!

I saw bits of it too.  So, a group of Americans got fleeced by an insensitive rip-off merchant.  Situation normal, isn't it?!

I struggle to think what 5 days very low grade lecturing is going to do for them.  The sad part is the unconscious incompetance in them all - "I've done a course so I can handle anything".  Yeh, right.  By the way, do you mean the Shakey's? (SBS).  I guess your mate wet himself laughing...

yeah thats it - took him diving one day and boy can he swim, mask clear buoyancy control and looks comfortable but he is awful at all else - says they aint taught that shite  - diving is a tool and all that and its not fun at all he like the canoes! yeah he laughed himself stupid especially when they were tested and they all fucked up and then were given certificates to say they passed - twats!

PS he made one good point - they probably have the certificates hanging on their wall back home - secrecy? ijits would nearly make you want to break in just to steal their certificates!

<font color='#0000FF'>Yes, I also watched this programme. &nbsp;I saw the title and continued to watch. &nbsp;It really did have to be Americans didn't it, why are they so gullible. &nbsp;Do they really think that someone is going to walk up to them and say, hey I have a bomb just so they can practice their hand to hand combat. &nbsp;Don't think so some how. &nbsp;The narrator made a valid point if that had been a muslim training camp it would have caused an outrage and the Americans would probably have distroyed it.

Your oppo, if indeed he was 'Shaky Boats' (SBS), will have been an exceptional swimmer and canoeist - the reason being that all Boat Sqn members are rated, after Selection and Continuation training, 'Swimmer Canoeist' 1, 2 or 3. Ask him whether he was on the MCT teams out of either Arbroath, Holy Loch or Poole?
