Take one old fashioned acetylene (ie naked flame) helmet mounted lamp. Add one baggy boiler suit. Climb a long wire ladder (ie raise your arms above your head, close to your head). Get the picture...?

I had some many injuries as a teenager I was on first name terms with the A&E team

Too many to mention, like Nigel I used to race bikes, have also been into rallying, go-karting and rock climbing to name a few. At the last count I've broken 49 bones some of them more than once.

So - half way up a long ladder, arms on fire. Take one hand off ladder, beat out flames on other arm - oh wait a sec, that's brought the other arm close to your body, and set that on fire. OK, take both arms of ladder to beat out flames - nope, fundamental flaw with that plan. And all the while your "mates" at the bottom of the ladder are wondering why it's gone all bright, and why bits of burning boiler suit are falling around them. Please please tell me it was something like that!

destoning avocados with sharp knife, slightly pissed ( well 6 cans into a 12 slab) normal way is ring round the avocado stab the stone pry out and flick into the bin.

I slipped on the stab motion and stuck a 6inch long paring knife into my hand to a depth of about 1/2 inch. SWMBO dressed it and it took about 6 weeks to heal


walking to pub not yet drunk warned friend not to fall into excavation on way home. walking back home absolutely steaming yes you guessed it.
