No alcohol - how easy was that

Best of luck. Did it for the month of January. Felt good to do it. Felt even better to start again in Feb.

I fell off the wagon last night , me and swmbo had one of those quiet nights in and while she was guzzling a bottle of white i "treated" myself to one of those small (2 glasses size) bottles of a mighty fine red and had a small malt (bottle supplied by Woz, formally of these parts ) with a coffee before retiring. I have to say that my head was a bit swimmy as it hit the pillow.

When I got up this morning I felt like s**t. I really thought I'd downed a full bottle of wine and the whole bottle of malt.

My head was banging and someone had replaced my guts with a spin drier!

I had a guy coming round to sort out the boiler (heating system not SWMBO ) so had to stay up but as soon as he'd done what he had to do i was off back to bed!

So THATS IT, never again, with the exception of weddings, funerals and Dive Shows, will i take tincture. I think it's time I accepted that i'm getting older and my body just can't handle the booze like it used too.

That's caused by lack of practice, not age!

Seriously though, I know the problem, it doesn't take much over a moderate amount to make me feel a bit under the weather these days but I still enjoy a drink. I brew my own beer (still only 50p per pint for the good stuff) but don't consume more than a couple of pints in an evening and not every evening at that - somtimes I'll have a glass of wine instead.

I won a bottle of single malt at work today, they have a daily raffle just for turning up

So it has gone straight into the top cupboard.

I'm disappointed in myself and yes i'm suffering, oh god am i suffering!

At least it's really given me the determination to pack up now, i don't want to feel this bad ever again

wine then finish with a cognac


beer then finish with a malt.

Ha Ha I taught him all he knows, he was a Lager drinker before I sorted him out with a decent education!

I'm actually doubting that it was the booze (no, not denial!) that caused my problems as my immediate crewmate and the other crew on duty with us all had the same problems and in any case I never normally have problems with mixing anything.

Still determined though!!
