No please don't ditch the DIR forum.
It would make it to tricky finding the entertaining posts,
having to do searches for "quick-release clip" etc would just take all the fun out of it

I like to think of the whole of YD as just one giant DIR forum for the taking. It's only a matter of time before the CCR lot have died cruel and unusual deaths and everyone else is just one giant unified team Mwah ha ha ha

We shall continue to be the diving equivalent of those annoying Baptist Christians who jump on you at the bus stop and ask you if you know what it's like to have Jesus in your life?

Similarly rebreathers need their own bolt hole. If I want to discuss alpinist solo decompression techniques I want to do it somewhere without giving offence to sincerely held beliefs.

What do you think?
Why does the word 'quarantine' keep popping into my head?

keep it.

Give people an option to opt out (if that is technically possible) or otherwise people can just ignore whats in the DIR sub forum.

I don't see that DIR section doies anyone any harm; it's a very distinctive style of diving and deserves to have it's own area. At least we in the Stroke Area get left alone.

Whilst we are about it, how about a Southern Hemisphere section too?

Somewhere we luckier people can go without having to be confronted by other unfortunates moaning about the weather, the mountainous seas, the fact that they haven't got wet since October 2005 or the sh1t vis?

It makes me feel uncomfortably guilty sometimes, like watching tv programmes about wars and famines in far away countries.

Yorkshire had a North Riding and an East Riding but I don't think it ever admitted to the South existing so you might be out of luck.

You're just in Greater Yorkshire like the rest of us who post here.
