DIHYW Forum

I don't mind what forums we have. I don't care if people want to dive GUE,DIR, PADI, BSAC, SSA, SSI, SAS, VD, TDI,ANDI,NAUI,VW Golf,.

However i do think we should have a DIHYW.

I am personally an exponent of this style of diving. So much so that i have set up a DIHYW school.

naturally i am DIHYW Instructor number 1.

Basically you can learn this method from any of the above agencies, with the exception of the SAS, VD and VW Golf school of diving!!!!

Basically the principal is you learn how to dive first, go out and practice and then, DIHYW. The overiding factor is to DIHYW AS LONG AS IT IS SAFE.
As instructor number 1 i would encourage anyone from any of the above agencies to dip into any of the forums on YD, Rebreather world, SW Maffia and any of the other forums and nick all the best bits of advice that you feel would suit or help your diving.
That in the escence is the secret of DIHYW diving.

Oh and DIHYW stands for Do it how you want.
As long as its safe and fun and works for you

Its an intresting debat. I have no problems with a DIR section per say but as a training agencey I think it is getting unfair coverage the other agencies. I think there is no balance. So that would mean a a BSAC, PADI, CMAS etc sectoin. I guess waht I am saying is that it should be like political parties and TV they all must have a equial amount of time. The way I see it is at the moment there is imblance which should be addressed. Well that's my 2p not very well put but then beers have been drunk

I like this idea. If the DIR lot could only reference DIR / GUE when someone else mentioned the other agencies then I would not mention BSAC / PADI or anyone else for that matter.

I couldn't give a gnats chuff whether or not we are DIR/GUE/PADI/BSAC/Whatever-the-other-ones-are-I'm-too-pissed-and-amazed-I-can-still spell.

Can't we all just have fun?

What do you think?
Can't make up my mind if you only posted this for a laugh ?

But I feel that it would be wrong to scrap the DIR section from the biggest diving forum on the net, Noy only that, but YD would probably lose some members that DO put on some good posts.

The posts should be limited in info , but a link to direct people that that way inclined to the websites already stated .

I haven't read all the other replies but I think the DIR forum must have a place for people to ask questions relating to DIR and looking for the DIR compliant answer to their question rather than the "two divers-three opinions".

That's not to say that the DIR can't answer questions elsewhere of course. "well my/the DIR approach to that question is..."

In past I have mistakenly jumped in to answer a question and realised afterwards that it was being asked specifically of DIR and not diving in general. So I would think it's better to keep it, As i would tend to not bother reading or answering questions raised there , leaving it to the people who know about it.

just my 2p

Jules

Please can we remember the Agency is GUE, the "style" of diving is DIR.

That makes a subtle difference to the argument.
