Although, I do love a good conspiracy story - The Cholesterol Farce TBH, I'm really concerned because I no longer feel healthy, like I used to do. It could just be age ................. I mean, my body is obviously telling me that it has 'had enough'. I regularly played squash up until I was in my early 40s and ................ now I'm just not really interested in anything .............. even diving is no longer the passion it once was. I suppose that could be mental as much as physical?

| In around 2002 I used to cycle around 60 miles per week and my cholesterol was 3.5 I now do no excercise and am still around the same weight and my cholesterol has rocketed up to 6.5.My diet is actually better than it was, with more fruit and veg than ever before and no microwave ready made meals, but it's gone up anyway I'm told that Olive oil can help if you use it in place of lard for frying and I often use it on bread or toast instead of butter. No idea if it's worked cos I'm not going near the Dr in case they tell me something else I didn't want to know . They also told me that it can take a good 6 months to see noticable improvements. But the biggest factor seems to be excercise in my case, so try getting your arse, sorry try getting your friend to get his arse off the sofa and move about a bit Arfie

| LiamM's prescription for cholesterol reducion: Breakfast each day should be eggs fried in butter and then soak the butter up in fried bread. Followed with a pint of Genius and a big sleep and maybe sex (involving another person if possible). The rest of the day you can eat what you want........ This is almost guaranted to work.....

| The single figure for cholesterol does not really mean much, you need the split of HDL and LDL. HDL = good stuff, LDL = bad stuff. Did you (sorry your friend) get the split? |
