Kirsty McColl (RIP) died after being hit by a boat when surfacing after a dive.

I understand that the boat driver was prosecuted but never heard the outcome. Anybody know ?

There was a programme on TV about this recently. Quite moving too. Her kids saw her die, which is the worst thing for any child to see.

Apparently the guy who was driving the boat was a fairly high-ranking businessman in Mexico. Except in Mexico you get fined based on your salary. As he earnt millions, and didn't want to lose anything, he ended up getting a stooge employee to take the rap and thus the family ended up with Kirsty's life being worth about £51, and there's even suggestions that the Judge was paid off by the millionaire businessman.

Very sad - I believe they're still fighting it through the very dodgy Mexican legal system.

EDIT - Found the website - Justice For Kirsty campaign

Agreed! But who needs plot when you have this...

Wrong

Apparently this is a pic of her in Flipper...

I seem to recall Into the Blue was filmed in January in the Bahamas in water temps of 21-22 degrees - so kudos to the stars diving wearing so little!

while I was reading through some back issues of Diver, I found a story about Anneka Rice learning to dive in Cyprus.

IIRC, according to some other issues, David Bellamy and David Attenborough are also divers.

Prince Philip was president of BSAC before Charles and learnt to dive in the Buckingham Palace pool before tajing up the post.
