Quite, and why is he a magician? Where's the magic? Does he call himself that because 'publicity seeking waste of space' sounds less glamourous? Instead of demonstrating the magical powers required to sit in box for a few days David, how about making something disappear? Yourself for instance...

Haha. I thought as much. So you divide that by three and you get about 5mins30secs as a realistic breath hold time on normal air.

A couple of years ago, I did 14 minutes after hyperventilating on 100% O2 for 5 minutes - it's bizarre - the more you hyperventilate, the more your body starts to fizz and you feel the oxygenation of your blood pumping round your body. Once you get over the light headedness phase, it becomes strangely narcotic!

Sat at the bottom of a pool feeling utterly bored, but very very wierd.

He is after all an illusionist. Perhaps he used Oxy gum and they thought he said Oxygen

No doubt Channel 4 will have commisioned a 3 hour special to celebrate it.

His street magic used to be quite entertaining, pity he's become a pretentious publicity whore.

Its a valid record. The previous record for this was 16min 45 sec.

Using pure 02 to flush C02??? I wasn't aware that was possable?

I thaught the motablisation of 02 created co2?

We use the amount of 02 consumed on a CCR to calcualate our C02 production.

think that is just a 'newsism' bit like divers use 'oxygen cylinders' they cant be arsed to explain that they are saturating the body with o2, so explain it away as flushing the co2

Setting the record was "a lifelong dream".. that must have been an exciting childhood.

I'm waiting for when he does the worlds longest disappearing act!
