New job title

I am in the process of reorganising the office for one of the businesses that I am currently working for. All very amicable, no redundancies or anything like that. Only four people involved. One has stepped up to be called office Manager, and she is in charge.
Another lady is currently titled as Practise Manager, but for various reasons, no longer manages the other staff. I need to find a new title. Other staff are referred to as PA/typists, which is a fairly accurate decription of their roles.
Her role comprises of some accounts work-entry of sales and purchase invoices petty cash, some HR issues-trivial IMO, sorting out contracts for mobile phones, photocopier etc checking surveyor reports, and generally sorting things out.

Can't really use Finance Manager-too grand, not really an Accounts Assistant-she does more than that. Grand Commander of Sage and all things electrical is a bit long

These staff like their titles. So any useful suggestions will be appreciated.

Um, why don't you ask HER what she thinks the title of her job should be and work from there.

IF you change her title without her imput I reckon you'll be setting yourself up for a fall! Like you say, staff like their titles, anything to give them a little importance. So see what she thinks is suitable and if you don't agree then work from there.

And manager doesn't necessarily have to be a manager of people so if she manages "things" within the company then why shouldn't she be labelled that? Manager - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I answer to Minion. Sums it up really!!!! But then I work for 30+ Partners of a law firm so perhaps that will explain why I'm just a pleb or minion!!!!

I think most people do more in their work than their title suggests so just give her a grand but simple title and she'll be happy.

I think Julie's suggestion is a good one. Is a good approach to the 'fluffy people side' of things rather than it just being a 'tasky thing'.

We tend to call people Technicians, Supervisors, Co-Ordinators, Managers in that order. So would go for Admin or Accounts Support Co-Ordinator (ASC as in if you need to know just ASC). Im quite pleased with that (I must get out more)
