campsites

hi all i'm off to Cornwall for a week camping start off June, an was wondering if any 1 knew off any cheapish campsites near the beach well 10 minutes or so from a beach thats pretty good for snorkeling as i'm only ow an haven't got my own kit yet. not too sure where we want to be based yet but falmouth side off cornwall i think would be best.

ps some where i can scallop would be great

I stayed at a friend's holiday home in Perranporth
I can't remember the name of the place

If you google it you will find it

I really liked it and, I prefer the north of the county than the south

Trevair campsite near St Hilarys, just east of penzance is very nice. Quiet location, good facilities (at one point he was even doing air fills, but i don't know since a dodgy cylinder blew last year) and the couple who run it are nice. We've stayed a couple of times, a web search should find them.

Also try a couple of sites near Treen, only a short walk to the sea.

Hope he's still doing fills, Turbs and I have just booked a week there at the beginning of July, and it's a nightmare finding somewhere in Cornwall to get air!

We've also stayed at Treverven campsite near Lamorna (an excellent shore dive) which is lovely and has a sea view.

If I'm going down there to dive I usually end up stopping at Sea Acres, which is at Kennack Sands down on the Lizard. About 5 miles from the Goonhilly earth station.

You can either stop in a static caravan - they do also have camping pitches but best ring up cos they don't seem to sell them online, and also cos it's Parkdean, they have a pub / pool on site, plus the best bit is that they have a dive shop and air compressor. I'm not sure if they do Nitrox, but I think the Dive Shop in the village does.

(Kirstie - that may be a good location to get a fill cos I believe they're open to non-residents too).

There are three farm camp sites near Falmouth at Maenporth and Penryn.
Pennance Mill Farm, Maenporth tel: 01326 317431
Tregenda Farm, Maenporth tel: 01326 250529
Menallack Farm, Treverva, Penryn tel:01326 340333
May be worth giving them a call if you can't find anything else. I haven't used any of them so can't give any details.
I'm down there early July but will be camping at Veryan.
