| Depemds what you want from a phone. Mine is an old Nokia, makes calls sens /receives texts. Monochrome screen, no camera, no internet, no add ons. Small, cheap, battery lasts forever, noone is likely to pinch it 'cos there 's no value / demand. Cheers |

| Nokia N73- phone. text, email, web and a good camera. Not exactly cutting edge and chunky but does the job

| depending on what your like, I now only get basic phones, and they only usually last me 6 months. The sony ericsson k800i is a reasonable phone, I have the W950 before I smashed the screen, it was a good phone but was slow responding to input at times |

| Get a cheap n cheerful one coz .. 1. If you lose it - its cheap n cheerful. 2. If you break it - its cheap n cheerful. 3. If it gets nicked - it's cheap n cheerful. 4. You probably won't use most of the "features" *coff* of the new all-singing phones - I know I didn't. 5. The newer all-singing phones tend to bite off more than they can chew and end up doing lots of different things quite badly (and slowly) I'd personally go for a cheap nokia that does voice / texts.

| Depends what you want it to do, if you just want to make calls and texts get a cheapo, if you want to the gadgets then it's down to which ones you want. I currently have a W850i walkman phone which is the first non nokia phone I've had in over 10 years and it's great. It's been dropped several times (only ever on concrete though, nvere soft things like carpet) it's been drenched and it just keeps working. It takes MS media so for a few quid I can make it the equivalent of an Ipod. I do listen to MP3 files on it from time to time. The camera is OK and it can access the internet via WAP. For work I have a Nokia e65 which is a bit more fiddly for me, but again it can do pictures and WAP, but it also has built in wifi which is handy for picking up emails and checking t'internet. I'm due to change both soon (the e65 is overdue) and I am looking at the Blackberry 8110 for my work phone, mainly for the email ability but also cos being a bit of a geek I like the thought of the GPS even though I have no need for it at all. For my own personal phone I am considering the N95 again with the GPS and the 5mp camera and it can be my phone, camera and mp3 player. Oh and I like the looks of it But if you don't want or need any of the faff, just KISS Arfie
