Yep, I found the prices were around £14k+ as well. To be honest, after test driving them I wasn't overly impressed and if you dig a bit they have a very big question mark over their reliability if worked i.e. not just used for taking anklebiters to school or posing in the golf club car park.

I got an Isuzu double cab pick up in the end, absolutely brilliant. Handles well, very reliable, great off road, tonnes of space and does 38mpg on the motorway. They've not got the middle class pose factor that the Navara does though, they are working lumps but there are lots of auto boxes, they do them with leather and buttons to press (if that's your thing), IIRC they have the highest towing capacity of any pickup (might be wrong though) and they're about a couple of grand under the cost of an equivalent Nissan or Mitsu. They're also one of the most popular pickups around (sold as Chevvys in the US and the best seller in the far east).

To be honest, I'd go for one made out of metal if I were you. A leather one would have pretty poor impact resistance properties, as a material it doesn't really have enough structural stability. It would probably sag when it got wet as well.

Twas a surprisingly lovely drive.

The Isuzu looks ok but it's very agricultural. The Nissan is like a proper nice car inside and the back seat aren't as vertical so you can actually sit in them rather than having your knees round your ears like some LA porn slut.

I have done over 72000 this year in mine and have had to have 2 new wheel bearings (£500 a time ).
Dont know if thats good or not.
As we do a lot of work on gas pipelines it has had a bit of a hard life.
On the yd stony gig at the start of this year a yd member had a sit in mine odd thing was he left a book about naked women and wilde life (or at least thats what the cover looks like).
I wonder who it was?
Pete

Bloody hell! It cost £120 on my Grand Cherokee to get that done including importing the parts from the US![/quote]

What do you want to sit in them for? Back seats are for dive kit, mine have been permanently folded down since I got it Some people have weird ideas... Back seats only encourage people to sit there and witter shite just out of earshot

Back seat is for his son. If you don't want back seats you may as well get the crew cab version which appears to have been made for double amputees to sit in the back.
