| Gosh Bryan, it looks like another contrary vote from me I am PADI trained - some good, some bad experiences. I am BSAC trained, some bad, some very good (thanks Ian@1904 ) experiences. I am currently undergoing a long and tortuous (my fault) IANTD course. What can I say. Every agency I have been in contact with has the ability to shine and the capacity to be crap too.

| I'm looking for everyone to concede PADI are best is all. There has never been a poorly PADI trained diver. All those stories about 'guaranteed passes etc'; pure myth!

I learned to survive under the water with Scotsac, I learned how bad a diver I am with GUE. In-between there was some fun stuff with TDI and PADI. Davie

| Mess not with the Asteroids king ye other agency types! Bow down before me and heap accolades upon me ye mere non PADI mortals! Wow, WTF was in that last Stella? I was searching for a picture of the infamous "Warhammer manoeuvre" and, bugger me, if my avatar didn't appear. Sadly, I can't find the picture again. I'll bet that he was a PADI diver and took a speciality course?

| PADI as far as badge collectors badge (MSD), by which time i'd gone over to TDI for AN&DP followed by TDI normoxic trimix and at the same time PSAI level II trimix and advanced gas blender. Why ? a) PADI spread the material over too many courses just to make more money out of you b) I found PSAI material to be better than TDI c) PSAI level II covers my arris for insurance in the 60 to 75m range without having to wait for an advanced trimix ticket d) okay - i'm a badge collector! did all this in just over 18 months, mmm. better go and learn to dive now. ps. having said that, my PADI training was first rate and gave me a solid start. |

| I can't stay and play at fighting anymore 'cause my Mum says I've got to go to bed now.

| SAA 1986- first dive in Newtons Cove. Since then SAA Instructor, PADI Instructor, IANTD Instructor and soon to be BSAC instructor SAA gave me some excellent training and a great foundation for all my diving, August 86-August 88 more than 200 dives all around Weymouth and Portland- depths 6m to 40m. All on singles and at the time great fun.

| I've just been to Weymouth BSAC club with Scuttler where I had 3 vodkas. It smelled of fish in there. Then I realised it was also the angling club. But BSAC divers smell of fish as well as having beards. PADI all have pink snorkels DIR are all serious and like to spin round in ponds GUE are troglodytes who like dark holes illuminated with bright torches Is that argumentative enough for you?
