Even though I have a beard and a beergut, I'm a PADI diver, all the way up to Divemaster. Unfortunately all my courses have been in the UK rather than the tropical waters that *proper* PADI divers are familiar with (I've seen the videos)

I've done lots of training in freshwater puddles though, so if I ever decide to DIR I'll know what to expect.

Quite right. You should never dive if you feel poorly. Even I've dived when I've been a bit under the weather and I trained with a real agency rather that a holiday diving one.

I qualified with PADI 6 years and one week ago (missed the anniversary!!) but I had to vote other, because I trained in the UK, not warm water. Have also had some TDI training and currently avoiding any other agencies training

Finless... you could have had a meaningful poll by listing all the agencies!

Yeah... I was confused by that. I voted PADI but am a rough tough UK trained diver. Not a mamby pamby warm blue stuff diver!


Actually would be interesting to see what the split of Blue / Green water PADI trained divers would have been...
